How to Sell More - Increase Your Sales in 5 Easy Steps
How to Sell More - Increase Your Sales in 5 Easy Steps
By Sean R Mize Platinum Quality Author
1. The first thing that you need to do is to offer freebies and discounts to your prospects. Several studies and research confirm that this is the best way to capture the attention of your target market and later on, get them to buy from you. The reason for this is that buyers feel that they save money by taking advantage of your promotions.
2. Cross sell. If you have more than one product or service to offer, make sure that you also offer them to you customers before you let go of them. To bring value, you must offer those items that compliment their main purchase. For example, if you are selling SEO tools, you can offer them ebooks about SEO.
3. Keep your customers posted. If you intend to launch gimmicks or promotions, make sure that you inform your customers ahead of time. Send them an email at least a week before the actual promotion so they can plan ahead.
4. Treat your buying customers like royalties. There should be a huge difference as to how you treat your prospects and how you treat your buying customers so you can make these people feel that you do value their business. Offer them more freebies and make sure that they are the first ones to get insider scoops about your latest advertising gimmicks.
5. Promote repeat business. You don't want to end your relationship with your clients after their first purchase. You would want them to come back for more so you can boost your sales and revenue. You can do this by setting up a customer reward program and by making sure that you give them 100% satisfaction each time they do business with you.
Sean Mize teaches coaches, consultants, and small business owners how to package their knowledge and sell it in high priced coaching, consulting, and online class packages, and is an expert at using articles like this to drive traffic to his website, and has taught hundreds of clients his secrets. Sean says, "If you have an existing marketable service or skill that you can teach others, I can teach you to package it into a high-priced class or coaching program, guaranteed."

10 Ways to Use Google Alerts for Business and Social Media (Plus Tips for Improving Search Results)
One of the most useful services released by Google in recent years is its powerful Google Alerts (http://Google.com/alerts). This free tool allows you to receive e-mail notifications when keywords and phrases that you specify appear on websites, blogs, online news channels and more.
Here are 10 ways to leverage Google Alerts for your business:
1. Business Name -- Keep track of websites that mention your company. This is an opportunity to send a note of thanks or address an issue if something derogatory is posted like a complaint about customer service. Big companies track mentions of their businesses online and you should too.
2. Personal Name -- Find out where you're mentioned online. This is especially important for prominent figures such as authors, speakers, celebrities, and individual service providers.
3. Website -- Track where your website is mentioned by creating an alert for your domain. Leave off the leading "www" and instead just specify your domain and extension such as "authoritypublishing.com."
4. Blog -- If you host a blog, follow the website guidelines above to create an alert for your blog domain. This should also produce results if your blog link is posted somewhere with a specific pointer to one of your pages.
5. Titles -- If you distribute articles for online marketing purposes, create an alert for each article title so that you can track where your articles are appearing. Authors can use this same strategy for tracking book titles.
6. Industry Research -- To stay on top of industry news, create alerts for keywords and key phrases for your industry. For example, I have alerts for "publishing industry" and "business book." This makes it easy to stay on top of news, competition and much more. If you are using social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, this can help you locate useful content for micro-blogging or to give you topic ideas to cover in your blog.
7. Competitive Research -- If you want to find out who is talking about your competition or where they are being mentioned, create alerts for each competitor's business name and/or website URL.
8. Lead Generation -- If breaking news can produce leads for your company, use Google Alerts for related phrases. For example, if you own a human resources firm and want to find out what companies are hiring in Sacramento, you could create several alerts: "now hiring Sacramento," "job posting Sacramento," and "job listing Sacramento."
9. Lead Research -- If there is a company or client that you want to land, create alerts to stay on top of their most recent online activity. This can provide valuable insight into what they company is up to and who is talking about them.
10. Top Client Research -- Track activity for your top ten or twenty existing clients. This can give you valuable insight into what they're up to, and also provide you with reasons to contact them. For example, if one of your clients receives major media coverage, you will learn about it right away and can send them a note of congratulations.
Useful Google Search Tricks
Exact Keyword Search: You can specify exact keywords by putting a plus sign (+) in front of the word. For example, if you search for the word "publish," Google search results would include "publishing" and "publisher." Adding a plus sign to the beginning of the word (+publish) will ensure that you only receive exact matches.
Exact Key Phrase Search: When you search for a phrase, Google results will returns anything that includes all of the words in the phrase, not that exact phrase. But if you enclose your search in quotes ("how to publish a book"), the results will only include that exact phrase.
Alternate Keyword: To return a search with alternate results, use "OR" between the words (the letters OR must be capitalized). For example, "author OR writer" will return results with either keyword. For a more complex search, you can put part of the phrase in parenthesis: (author OR writer) "business books".
Synonyms: If you want your search results to return related terms, use a tilde (~) in front of the word. For example, if you use this feature to search for the word "~author," Google returns results that include "book," "writer," and "literature."
Search a Single Website: If you want to track new entries on a specific site, you can use the "site:" operator. For example, if you want to track mentions of business books on the New York Times website, your search would look like this: "business book" site:nytimes.com.

10 Marketing Mindsets for Success
10 Marketing Mindsets for Success
by Laura West
http://www.ideamarketers.com/images/writers/laurawest.jpg
Ten Marketing Mindsets for Success! Having the right mindset for your marketing can mean the difference between amazingly impactful marketing and marketing that is blasé and falls flat with little to no results. These ten marketing mindsets will also help you stay the course and focus, expand past your comfort zone, and keep your energy up so you don't get down on yourself and get frustrated with your marketing before you've given it a chance.
1. Give Yourself Time
Most of my clients are their own worst boss! Their expectations are so high that they don't really give marketing efforts time to work before they start doubting, questioning and wanting to ditch the whole effort. Acknowledge that you are a lifestyle entrepreneur. This is a business owner who won't compromise on her lifestyle - she's not about to sacrifice her relationships, miss the big school play, go without a vacation or working out and taking care of herself. Given your commitment to your lifestyle, create marketing programs that support your lifestyle success. Just because someone else looks like they are moving fast doesn't mean you have to pile on a load of stress and sacrifice everything that's important to you. Build time (we're not talking perfection here) into your side.
2. Commit to Frequency
I heard this in the early days of my career in newspaper advertising back in the 80s and it's still true today. Actually it's probably more important today than ever. We are literally bombarded with over 68,000 messages a day. Your client has learned to put up a big filter and be selective about how much information she lets in. So, you have to be consistent in your efforts so that little by little she'll develop an awareness of who you are, develop a trust in you and your services, and be there when she is ready to buy. This is also about trusting your vision and making a commitment to keep showing up in real, vulnerable, confident ways with your marketing.
3. Create a Support Team
Doing it alone will have you burnt out and is a sure-fire way to zap your creativity. Create a plan for your ideal support team - both for your business and for your home life. You don't have to hire them all at once. Knowing that you have a plan for which people you want to add and when you want to add them can be liberating in itself. Then gradually hire people on a project basis or for a few hours. As you are ready to step into the next level of success for your business, you'll hire another person to help you expand your capacity. Growing with the evolution of your company allows you to keep focused on your "strengths-based" work - the juicy, creative part of your business that is directly related to growing the business. Let others (who are working with their strengths!) handle the rest.
4. Look for and Create Systems
This is a key area for a lot of growing business owners. To handle the growth look for anything and everything that you do over and over again. Make a system out of it. Design a template, checklist, procedure list so you aren't redoing it every time. I have to say, I equate "systems" with "freedom." Every 10 - 15 - 30 minutes count in my busy life. Learn how to use your online systems and programs to help support you not having to hold so much information in your head (i.e. birthdays, appointments, to-do's, ideas). As you build your support team co-create systems with them. My amazing assistant, Jan, helps me with my newsletter. Not only does she do all the behind the scenes management of it (shopping cart, template, editing, list management, etc.) but we've created a system to help me get it out on time. We have calendarized the newsletter so we know our publish dates, and then three days before it's due to her she sends me the template with as much information as possible already updated. I just have to write the welcome, provide the article, and product announcement. A system set up for my success! (Thanks Jan!)
5. Let Out Your Personality
Surprisingly - this is such a big area for creative entrepreneurs! You would think with all that creativity busting at the seams in your business that this would be easy. What I find is that a lot of creative entrepreneurs are so conscious of their creative side that when it comes to marketing they think they have to button it up and "be professional." Being professional can be a business-killer. I don't like to use that word much but I have to say - being professional and blending in - will get you just that - blending in and not standing out to your ideal client. For starters, just be a little more personal and creative in your marketing than you think you "should." You will be surprised at how you will connect with more people when you tell them about your cat, your vacation or your real -life stories of "annual summer schedule nervous breakdown" (oops - talking about me!).
6. Claim Your Expert Status
This is another big one for many women entrepreneurs. We have been raised with those stories: "Don't be too big for your britches," "Don't brag," and the biggie, "Just who do you think you are?" The thing is your clients WANT to know that you know what you are doing. The only way they'll know is if you tell them. You can tell them in many ways that are fun and creative: through stories of your clients and how you solved a problem or they achieved a success working with you, through photos of you in action, and especially in your newsletter or blog. This is where you can shine with each publication, giving them tips, resources and stories about what you know works.
7. Take a Stand
Don't be wishy-washy. You'll get lost in the sea of mediocrity. All those businesses you hear about failing each year - many of them were indistinguishable from each other. What are you passionate about? Let your clients and potential clients know. Sure it's a bit risky - they might not agree. The key here is to really know your client! Your ideal clients will feel closer to you and more attracted to you. They will keep coming back. Even dare to be controversial - not just to get attention but to really let your passion out. People love passionate and engaged people. They want to know how you are different from someone else. I do this every time I publish this Joyful Business newsletter. Many people like the idea of a "joyful" business but then they'll say, "Yeah, sure, but can you really enjoy your business?" As you know, I take a stand for including your passion, creativity and lifestyle in your business. Some people don't agree and they quickly go away. The ones who stay are true fans. They want to hear and know how they can keep this philosophy alive in their own businesses.
8. Build Your Celebrity Mystique
I recently bought an audio CD series from Rev. Michael Beckwith through Sounds True (an audio learning company). My coach was curious and asked me what their email said that prompted me to make the purchase. The truth of it was that I bought because he's built up his expert status and his celebrity mystique. I've heard him speak on The Secret DVD, Oprah and Larry King enough to know he drips soul when he speaks. So, I've been waiting for a product from him. Now, you might say that you haven't been on Oprah (yet). You can start today - right in your own life. Share pictures and stories of you and your coach, your mentors, your mastermind group - these show commitment and professionalism in your business. Get your picture taken when you go see famous speakers. Share pictures of you speaking, at special events, or charity fundraisers. All these situations are opportunities to share more about you to your readers, and they shape your personality and your values and make you real. Bottom-line is that people want to buy from successful people. Show them how you are a success!
9. Keep Learning About Marketing
You want to keep learning and growing in your marketing expertise. Marketing vehicles change, your ideal client evolves and so does your business. You want to always be filling up with how can you improve, tweak, change, make adjustments and try new things while keeping the successful marketing strategies fresh. Schedule learning from the experts (this is not to suggest you should follow every new marketing idea - manage your energy here!) and track what is working for you and what needs a fresh tweak. A great example of this is a sales page for a product. It might work at the beginning, but you'll eventually find that the conversion fizzles. Is it that you need a fresh message, updated testimonials, a stronger headline, installment payments, or is your current market saturated and it's time for new markets or to add to your list? This takes time. Put it in your calendar to visit your stats, get feedback and determine what needs to be changed. After all, marketing is a like a game, and to play the game you always have to be in movement trying something new, paying attention, stretching, being curious or systemizing what's working to free up energy.
10. Get a Mentor
Unless you want to spend energy, effort and lots of money recreating the path on your own - do yourself a favor and make a leap forward by learning from the best mentor you can afford. The key to having a successful relationship is to find a coach, consultant, or mentor who shares a similar philosophy and values as you do. For example, I am a heart-centered, bring your whole life to the table, creative attraction expert. If you are looking for a linear, push, push, rush, rush, dominant personality - I can refer to you some who will fit the bill. What I do is help creative entrepreneurs who are similar to me - they want creative expession, meaningful work, a lifestyle they love and financial success to support it all. I help them get down the path further and quicker with less stress and more ease. What type of mentor do you need at this point in your business cycle? Who do you see that you admire and want to be where they are? What I know is that when I've worked with mentors who push and are more domineering - I just don't flourish. When I work with someone who has a business that is where I want to go and approaches it with fierce love - I blossom. Who do you need for your next evolutionary leap? If heart centered marketing speaks to you and you're ready for a leap in your business, then stay tuned for our upcoming Platinum Mentor Program -Magic & Miracles in Marketing & Mindset.

3 Tips For Marketing Through The Noise
3 Tips For Marketing Through The Noise
by Jessica Swanson
Every single day, consumers are exposed to over 2,000 advertisements in magazines, newspapers, billboards, television, radio and the internet. As a marketer you have an incredibly difficult task to accomplish: you need to find some way to get through all the "noise" and grab your prospect's attention.
However, in order to cut through 2,000 other marketing messages it's blatantly obvious that you need to be armed with an arsenal of excellent marketing tactics and techniques.
There's no doubt that your marketing message needs to be well-crafted. But, equally important is the reality that your prospect needs to be exposed to your marketing message over and over again. In fact, recent research suggests that consumers need to see your message between seven and twelve times before they even pay attention to it!
Obviously, the days of putting a one-time ad in the newspaper are over. Repetition is king! So how can you effectively implement these new rules of marketing?
Here are three simple ideas that will help you tap into the power of repetitive marketing:
1) Post Your Ad In The Same Place Several Weeks In A Row. Whether you are posting a newspaper ad, magazine classified or an ezine solo ad, make sure to repeat your ad each week for a few weeks in a row. If you simply purchase a one-time spot, you simply won't attract much attention. The longer your ad runs the more attention you will receive. In fact, there are successful marketers who have run the very same ad, in the same newspaper for years. This repeat exposure encourages customers to take notice. 2) Continue To Market To Your Prospect Via Email. No matter what business you operate, you must begin to build a list of interested prospects. Whether you are a brick and mortar storefront or an internet company based in India, you will soon find that "the fortune is in the list." Building a list of interested prospects allows you to continue to market to them over and over again via emails, ezines, newsletters, special offers, etc.
3) Create A Profile On At Least Five New Marketing Platforms. I encourage every business owner to create consistent, branded profile on at least five different social marketing platforms. The reason is that this will create additional and repeat exposure for you and your business. Most people who belong to one social network, also belong to another. If Joe becomes friends with you on Facebook, YouTube and MySpace, follows you on Twitter and is a connection with you on LinkedIn, he is more likely to pay attention to you.
These are three quick and easy ways to tap into the power of repetitive marketing. It is essential for every small business owner to understand that they will rarely make a sale if their prospect has only one or two exposures to their marketing message. Instead, the prospect needs to experience you, your brand and your service or product again and again.

Benefits of Directory Submissions by Gen Wright
Years ago, when the development of the internet was in it's early stages, there were no such things as search engines. Directories arose because they were the only way to find out about new sites that you wouldn?t have otherwise been linked to. After the arrival of search engines, however, the tradition of web directories remained, and is still going strong to this very day. The ironic thing, however, is that rather than search engines replacing web directories, the web directories have become a way of getting indexed in search engines and moving up in the search results.
One thing that is extremely important whenever you are submitting your website to web directories is to make sure that the directories are of high quality. If you submit your site to trashy or spammy sites (sometimes classified as link farms) your site may be effected detrimentally, rather than positively. Google, the company that pretty much controls the search market, says that directories may be beneficial to your website only if certain criteria are met.
First of all, it is very important that you only submit your website to relevant web directories. If your site is about women?s fashion trends, why bother submitting it to a directory of technology/gaming related websites? Not only will the search engines look down upon your site for being in an irrelevant directory, but human visitors may be confused by your presence as well.
Secondly, it?s usually better to submit your websites to authoritative directories. Usually, these directories will review all sites before approving them, to assure that no sites will be allowed in the directory if they contain spam, obscenity, or illegal content. This will also help give your site a better reputation in the eyes of web surfers and search bots alike.
Thirdly, it?s important that you pick a good category within the directory. This may sound redundant, but it is actually more than just picking a relevant directory and category. You need to think from a visibility standpoint. The closer your link is to the main page of the directory, the more you will benefit from it. Not only will more visitors be likely to click through to your site, but more of the "link juice" will have a chance of being passed on to you. That "link juice" is what can power your rise to the top of the search engines.
Last but not least, you are probably going to need to submit your website to a LOT of directories! Yeah, one directory is great, but in all reality it won?t help too much. The results will really start to show once your website is in one or two hundred directories. Whether you do this yourself or you hire a team of people to do it for you, the results will be well worth the time or money spent in the long run.
Directory submissions may not seem like that big of a deal, but when you?re speaking from a traffic and SEO standpoint, web directories are one of the most cost effective tools available on the web for site owners.

The MOST Powerful Marketing and Advertising on the Planet! by Matthew Hesser
http://www.ideamarketers.com/images/writers/matthewhesser.jpg It sounds too simple to be true, but it really is... A well-targeted and timely PRESS RELEASE to the media is the most powerful form of marketing and advertising on the planet! A high quality press release, with the proper targeting and distribution to reach the correct media members, could have many businesses sailing on a sea of new sales and profits. Just one feature or a mention in a popular or targeted business publication has the potential to cause some business's phones to literally be ringing off the hook!
The next big question that arises, "How do you go about writing a quality press release that will grab the attention of the media and your particular audience?" Here are some tips to help you succeed:
* Pick a "Newsworthy" Angle. Press releases are not an advertisement. Do not try to sell your product or service. Do not use "hype" in press releases. Instead give the media what they want and they will give you what you want. Now, what the press and media really want is a story! Just provide the Who, What, When, Where and How with regards to the uses of your products and/or services in a story format. Show examples of ways that people have used your products and services to their benefit. If you can include some emotions in your story all the better. Ask yourself: "Would this be something that I might read in a newspaper?"
* Get a Good Start. The headline and the first few sentences of the first paragraph are the absolutely most important part of the press release. If you don't catch the reader's interest here you will lose your audience. The best way to do this is to use your most hard-hitting information FIRST rather than build to a climax. This may be opposite to what you would normally do when writing other material - but it does work! What follows in your press release are the details that SUPPORT your story or theme.
* Write to the Media. Remember, a journalist, editor or reporter, not necessarily a client, is reading your press release. It's not your job to sell them your product or service. It IS your job to give them an interesting story or piece of news that they will be happy to share and announce to their audience.
* Keep your release short and to the point. It should contain no more than about 500 words and no more than two pages.
Include your contact information. Provide full contact name, company name, full address, phone number, email address and Web site URL. The contact name should be someone who is knowledgeable and available to answer any questions by media members such as editors, reporters and journalists.
Targeted press releases to the media have helped thousands of companies succeed. They are the most powerful form of marketing and advertising on the planet! Remember: One article is all it takes!
For more information on how you can get a quality targeted press release written or have your press release distributed to the targeted media contacts in our 600,0000 press and media contact database, please visit our Advanced PR department at Majon International.

Become an Authority in Your Field: 14 Ways to Grow Your Business by Publishing a Book
No matter what kind of business you are in, there is no better way to become an instant expert than by publishing a book. Better than any business card, brochure, advertisement, website or blog, a book is a powerful tool that will open doors and lead to tremendous business growth opportunities.
Think about it from the consumer point of view. Let's say that you want to hire a personal trainer. You interview a trainer with typical credentials. He's friendly, says the right things, and his price is just right.
You interview a second trainer. He is also friendly and says the right things. At the end of your meeting he hands you a copy of his book "The Healthy, Wealthy and Happy for Life Program." He even autographs it for you.
Who are you most likely going to hire? (Did I mention that the author's rate is also higher than his competitor?)
Still not convinced? Here are 14 reasons why business owners who are authors have the leading edge:
1. Increased Credibility
Writing a book demonstrates your expertise in your subject matter. It is a form of mastery that can elevate your status in the eyes of your potential clients, peers, the media, and many other key contacts. The potential is truly unlimited.
2. Sharpen Your Competitive Edge Just as in the example above, there is nothing like a book to impress prospects and close deals. Give away books like you hand out business cards and your business is sure to grow.
3. Earn Higher Fees
If you are a service provider, such as a consultant, coach, graphic artist, doctor, therapist, financial advisor or other service professional, your book gives you a license to charge higher rates. It all comes back to that credibility factor. You are not just an average expert in your field, you are a published expert. Of course your rates are higher than everyone else.
4. Capture Hard-to-Get Appointments
Want to speak with the CEO, head of Human Resources, a political leader or some other unreachable contact? Send them a copy of your book along with a personal note. Odds are much better that your next call will go through. "This is Annie Author calling..."
5. Generate Referrals
Several years ago, a family law attorney sent copies of her book to marriage therapists all over town. Since therapists were often talking to her potential clients, she took a chance that the book might make an impression. Her practice quickly became the largest of its kind in her city.
6. Capture Media Attention
Open any newspaper or magazine and notice how each article includes quotes and advice from experts. Most often, these quotes come from authors. Tune in to any talk radio show, The Today Show, or even your local news programs. Authors are constantly in the spotlight. In fact, media professionals from print, radio and television frequently search Amazon.com for authors of books related to their needed subject matter.
7. Stand Out at Trade Shows
Your typical trade show booth won't be ordinary once you showcase your book and your work as an author. Prospects and potential alliance partners will be eager to meet the author.
8. Get Known Online
If you want to develop celebrity status and build a following of fans, there is no faster or more effective way to do that then by showcasing your author platform online. Share tips and resources through your website, blog and social networking sites like Facebook and LinkedIn. Host teleseminars and promote videos on YouTube. The Internet is an ideal place to capitalize on your author status and reach a global audience.
9. Generate Passive Income
As you become known online and build a following of loyal readers, adding information products such as ebooks, special reports and teleseminars can generate passive income--money you make while you sleep. Information products are quicker and easier to produce than a book, and they perfectly compliment your efforts as an author.
10. Develop Programs that Support Your Book
If you don't already have programs that support the theories in your book, you will want to have them available. Whether you ask them to or not, readers will call, write and send e-mail inquiring about how to implement the strategies in your book. Consider developing coaching programs, training packages and various products and services that compliment your subject matter.
11. Build a Team Around Your Brand
You can use your book as the foundation to teach others your system for doing what you do. You could develop your own certification program and recruit agents who deliver services under your brand, while they also promote your book and generate revenue for your business. For examples, check out Jay Conrad Levinson's Guerrilla Marketing Master Training program (www.gmarketing.com), Jim Horan's Consulting Team (www.onepagebusinessplan.com) or Michael Port's Book Yourself Solid Certified Coach program (www.michaelport.com).
12. Schedule Speaking Engagements
Commanding the attention of a room is a phenomenal way to grow your business. Authors are often invited to speak at trade association meetings, the local Chamber of Commerce, non-profit organizations, corporate functions, conferences and events. Once you have captivated an audience, wrap up your presentation with a special offer for consulting services, training programs or other package offering. Also, be sure to sell and autograph copies at the back of the room.
13. Become an Instructor
Authors are welcomed as instructors at adult learning programs like the Learning Annex and many colleges. The organizations will promote your classes through their catalogs and direct mail campaigns and that publicity can bring tremendous exposure and new business opportunities.
14. Hold Your Own Events
Authors like Jack Canfield, Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki and countless others leverage their notoriety and experience to host their own revenue-generating events and workshops. Events can range from half-day meetings in a rented office space to week-long events at a hotel or even on a cruise ship.
The sky is truly the limit when it comes to leveraging your own book to grow your business. If you have ever considered putting your thoughts on paper, stop thinking and start writing. The sooner you get started, the sooner you can reap the rewards. Publishing a book is one of the quickest and easiest ways to build the business of your dreams. It is up to you to harness the power and make your dreams a reality.

Profitable Home Business: The First Steps to an Online Home Business by Janice Sharman
Statistics indicate that "home-based businesses" are the fastest growing portion of the U.S. economy; and since the U.S. sets the global business trends, it means that most of the computer literate world will soon follow this trend. It has been predicted that in the next decade, up to 75 percent of the world's working population will work from their own homes.
As more and more people think about starting a home business it is imperative to know the areas you need to research when starting your first online business. Here are a few basic guidelines:
1. Evaluate your talents and skills. Start by evaluating your areas of expertise. What are you good at and more important what do you enjoy doing? Do you have good communication skills? Are you creative?
Do something you enjoy doing and are excited about. Remember, this home business is going to be your means of support, so you should choose a niche that is exciting to you. If you are having fun with your home business, you will be more likely to stick with it through the rough times. If you are passionate about your business, your excitement will show and it will not be difficult to get your customers enthusiastic about your products or services.
2. Do your market research. Before you start your home business, do a thorough research of your market and your competition. A good guide would be to ask yourself these questions: What product or service are you planning to sell? - Who wants your product or service? Who will be your "typical" customer or client? - What are the particular trends in the industry of your choice? - Is there a need for your product or service? Is your niche already saturated? - How will you market your business? Research the effectiveness of various types of marketing techniques. - How will you set yourself apart from your competition?
3. Research your competition. Who is your competition? How and what are they doing? What aspects of their business can you improve on? It is very likely that they have made mistakes along the way - learn from their mistakes. If you can find a service your competition does not offer where you can solve people's problems, web visitors will most likely use your business as opposed to that of your competition.
4. Design your website. Your website should be unique and must effectively describe your services or products. Create a website that is easy to navigate with clear and precise instructions and full of valuable information.
It is not difficult to build a website today. You can use easily available resources and tools, like low-cost website templates, free or inexpensive authoring software and affordable programs that will show you how to quickly and easily build and design a website.
People surf the internet searching for information. If your website is a good source of useful, well-written information, it will attract a wealth of visitors that are targeted to your website's theme.
5. Get your business listed free in the search engines. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, AOL, Alta Vista are great ways to drive lots of customers to your website. It would be savvy to learn basic "search engine optimization," as search engines are one of the primary sources of getting targeted visitors to any website.
Learn how to build and market your home business at a pace that is comfortable to you. Don't be in a hurry. Allocate time to obtaining a proper online home business education and marketing training before you launch your website; it will help you to avoid many of the pitfalls made by the majority of home-based business newcomers and help to fulfill your dream of building a successful and profitable home business.
Janice Sharman, enjoys helping independent thinkers fulfill their dream of making money online with their own profitable home business. If you can follow 3 easy steps, you can get your own custom website, autoresponder (email follow-up software) and pre-written email marketing campaign professionally designed and installed and ready to pull in profits for you in 24 hours or less! The Marketing World Is Changing! by Jessica Swanson
In the last five years marketing has changed tremendously. With the onset of the internet and now social media sites, the marketing world has literally turned upside down.
Interestingly enough, marketers were not the ones to initiate these changes. The change was set into motion by consumers.
Consumers became tired of aggressive, directive and interruptional marketing tactics. They became tired of companies telling them what to buy and how to spend. Consumers wanted to take part in the buying decision.
Here are seven reasons why free marketing is literally taking over the world:
1. Traditional Marketing Is Losing Its Effectiveness. Research suggests that traditional marketing will be 1/3 as effective by 2010. That means TV commercials, radio ads, newspaper ads and other "traditional' types of advertsing don't work as well as they did several years ago.
2. Marketing Is Now Interactive. Traditional advertising is not interactive. However, consumers are now interested in communication and interaction with the companies that they do business with.
3. Marketing Is Based On Relationships. In order to be effective, you must develop relationships with your customers before you do business. That's right...relationships first, business second!
4. Marketing Is Informational. Your customers are interested in learning about you and your company. You need to supply them with valuable resources and information to help them trust you and want to do business with you.
5. Marketing Is Not Just For "The Expert" Anymore. Traditional marketing was so expensive and complicated that you needed specific training in order to launch an effective marketing campaign. Now, anyone can break into the world of marketing. Although there is still a learning curve, it isn't nearly as steep as it used to be.
6. Free Marketing Allows You To Establish Yourself As The Expert. There is no better platform than free marketing to establish your knowledge and expertise. Even better, there are hundreds of places to tap into that will automatically establish this presence for you!
7. Grow Your Business Without Spending A Dime. Gone are the days of spending hundreds and thousands of dollars marketing your business. You now can be just as effective, if not more effective, without spending a single penny. What could be better than that?
Change is in the air! Marketers are now able to effectively and efficiently grow their small businesses on a shoestring budget. And, what is better than FREE in today's economy?

SCOPES IN HOME BASED BUSINESS
Don't leave the comforts of your home and start a business with very less capital. Isn't that sounding amazing? Yes the answer is surely yes. Think for others and work for others. You can do it for people if people fail it do for you. But the question is how would you start a business or deal in what? To know this you must attend the workshops and seminars conducted on starting up of any business. As it is the first step many of us don't like to spend money on research. But there is a solution for that too. You can research on the internet for free and join various communities on the various social sites. You can read their reports and books. They can provide you with lots and lots of information on starting up of new enterprise of your own. Such business, I can say have so much of positive factors in it. It's just at your doorstep. Cost of traveling is cut. Spending time in your car listening to radio in the strongly jammed traffic is also saved. The traveling distance would be in no time. You can work any time you want as you are your own boss. You can wear whatever you want as no such things like dress codes. Best thing of this business is that you learn self-discipline in a better way and manage yourself better. Here are the 3 suggestions for pacing up your home based business. 1. Shops in your own small premises- The old stuff converting new. We surely have clothes that are just worn once because we simply don't like it or body doesn't fit it perfectly as you want. Take out such clothes and put it in your sale list. Kids once played with toys but now they don't even look at them because they are grown up now. KIDS STUFF ON SALE. Place it. Someone in the family used to love sporting but now is a spoilt sport? Get their sports equipments and start selling it? Thus sell different things on different days. 2 Cafes and restaurants-Cooking can be very much consuming. Yes the right option is start catering business. Try taking party, anniversary, meetings and other kinds of orders. You can also turn your garage to a bakery if you are good at cakes. You can also make a place where youngsters can hang out and sit there for hours together with their friends. Good coffee, soft music and relaxing environment is just what you need to give these youngsters a reason to sit and increase your business. 3. Cleaning the surroundings- Often people fail to clean the places of themselves and even their surroundings. It is very essential to clean our own place and of others too. People who fail to do this advertise them about you and assure them that if surroundings are clean the person belonging to the surrounding is clean.
So now you get a clear picture of how to manage a new business and firstly how you start it up. You only fail because you say no or not possible but in reality it is 100 percent possible.

Fast Track Your Journey to Home Business Success
No one has ever logged onto the Internet for the first time and started pocketing dollars in a really short period of time. As with all things in life, there is a learning curve.
SOME PERSONAL HISTORY
Just a few short years ago, I was a working stiff just like you.
One day, I bought and read a book called "Multiple Streams of Income" by bestselling author, Robert Allen. Immediately, I began my journey.
Every night after work and after my wife and children went to sleep, I would get online and explore different ways of using the Internet to make money.
In the two years that followed, I spent over $10,000 racking up credit card debt buying eBooks, membership sites, special reports, opt-in leads, and joining every "guru" recommended business opportunity that flew into my email inbox.
I stayed up learning, working, and drinking coffee until 5:00 in the morning, month after month filled with the hope of making money online.
In my third year of working part-time to build a home based income, I finally broke through and earned over $100,000 in just twelve months from the Internet.
BECOME THE MASTER OF YOUR LEARNING CURVE
Research the lives of all of the "gurus." The one thing that you will learn is that my own experience is not unique. Most of the high earners on the Internet experienced a learning curve very similar to my own.
Chances are that your curve will also be similar to mine, but it is my hope that you can get to the top faster than even I did. Three years was a long time to struggle, but every ounce of struggle was worth the reward I have finally received.
In order to shorten your own learning curve, you must do a few things differently than the rest of us did. You must become the master of your learning curve.
THE SHORTEST DISTANCE BETWEEN TWO POINTS IS A STRAIGHT LINE
There is only one way to shorten the curve on the Internet:
You must plan to succeed!
Here is the deal. Most people put up a freebie website and select a few affiliate programs to add to their website. Right out of the gate, most people are running for the finish line without any real plan in mind.
After a few short weeks, people begin to see the writing on the wall that says, "This is going to be a long hard road."
People check their hit counters daily for six weeks before they realize that getting traffic to their free site is going to be tough.
At this point, they begin developing their first batch of advertising. Then they spend countless months finding places to show their advertisements for free. Some make an even more drastic mistake by blowing thousands of hard earned dollars on their new and untested ads.
These are the people who will learn the facts of life the hard way.
In time, they will learn how to make their advertising work for them, but most will earn very little money from their affiliate programs.
At this point in the learning curve, most people throw up their hands and walk away from their dreams in utter disgust. Instead of a walking away point, this should have convinced the struggling online entrepreneur that they were simply traveling the wrong road.
YOU MUST PLAN TO SUCCEED
From day one, you must begin to learn about the nuances of web promotion. Read everything you can get your hands on. Don't just read the hype, back it up with the opinions of others who have reviewed the same programs before you came along. Learn from their mistakes and successes.
As you begin to learn, you must also look to make a decision. Do you want to step into a pre-built program that is designed to help you to succeed, OR do you want to create a completely new program of which you are the sole owner?
If you decide to step into a pre-designed and complete turn-key online money-making venture, then you must select the right venture to step into. If this is your decision, I encourage you to examine the Plug In Profit Site at: http://www.HomeBusiness.us
If you decide to go the journey on your own, then do all of the necessary research, planning and preparation that is needed for your success.
PREPARE TO SUCCEED
Decide what you think you would want to do, and then figure out how your planned site will generate a real income.
Internet old-timers know about hundreds of corporation domains that existed with IPO millions, but did not have an actual money plan that could sustain their business model. Most of these companies were among the hundreds of companies that bellied up in the 2000 dot bomb experience.
Don't blindly believe in your plan. Research others on the web who have undertaken similar business models and see if they have survived. Study your competitors in depth to learn what is working for them and what did not work for them. To better understand what has or has not worked for competitor websites, check out their time lapsed progressions using the Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org
Once you have determined your money plan, then you should undertake the development of a business plan and a marketing plan. Utilize professional assistance if you need to do so. While creating your plans, make a determination as to which domain name you think would be best, then register it along with a hosting account. A good place to do this is at Host4Profit which you'll find in Step 2 at: http://www.HomeBusiness.us
Once you have developed your business plan and marketing plan and have run them through several revisions, then it will be time to buy your domain name and to begin work with a site designer and developer. You may need to have your domain sitting on a web host for your site developer, but this is not always necessary. While they are doing their work, enlist a copywriter to help you with your site sales copy.
When your site designer and developer have your site working, you should then undertake significant testing to make sure everything works as planned. It is much harder to fix problems on a operational site than it is to fix problems on a site that has yet to be launched.
When testing is done, then you should fill in your sales copy and then shoot for launch. Of course, you already have a marketing plan in place, so your preparation here will be simply a matter of putting the pieces of the puzzle into place.
You are finally ready to open for business. Don't be afraid to spend the money to bring your dream alive. Time can replace money in the goal of starting a profitable online business, but money invested can shave years off of your company's growth.

Top Four Marketing Secrets of Building a Professional Practice
Building a coaching or consulting practice can be rewarding and lucrative. Sadly, many who get started on this path simply can't make it. Almost daily I talk to people who give up on their dream of 'solopreneurship' and, resentfully, join the ranks of job seekers.
What disturbs me the most is that many of them are talented and skilled professionals, real experts in their field. With just a bit of marketing know-how, they may have been able to generate healthy six-figure incomes doing the work they love.
Instead, they spend tons of money getting more certifications. They are becoming 'master technicians' mistakenly thinking that alone will get them clients. But that's not how it works at all!
Let's take the coaching profession for example. You see, prospective clients don't even know the difference between ICF, CTI, Hudson, Adler, CoachVille or any other certification. They have no clue what CPC, MCC or other letters you might be putting behind your last name mean -- nor do they care! What they care about is results -- what benefits they'll receive.
There's a lot of talk in the coaching community right now about certifications; and while I agree it is important, it doesn't matter one bit if you don't have clients! Plus, you can be the most educated, certified, qualified, and professional coach out there and still struggle to stay busy.
You might think that's common sense, right? WRONG! I see coaches drop thousands of dollars in a blink of an eye to get another certification and agonize for months over a hundred dollars investment in a marketing course!
The good news, unlike getting certified, learning a few simple marketing strategies doesn't have to cost thousands of dollars. And it can make all the difference in the world. As a matter of fact, here are my top four 'practice marketing secrets' absolutely free.
Marketing Secret 1 -- Know Your 'Ideal' Client
It's critical that you know who they are, what their biggest problems are, how they make decisions, what they like to spend money on, where they hang out, etc. The 'narrower' you describe your ideal clients and the more you know about them the easier it becomes to get your marketing message across.
Marketing Secret 2 -- Become An Expert
And I don't just mean be good at what you do. Heck, you should do that anyway! I mean position yourself as an expert in a specific area.
For example, you might work with C-level executives in the insurance industry, or teach sales skills to realtors, or do turn-around consulting in manufacturing, or help working young mothers achieve life balance, or become a dating guru. Whatever makes you tick -- just focus on one thing!
Marketing Secret 3 -- Use Multi-Step Marketing
This is where I see so many professionals completely blow it. If a potential client doesn't sign up for your services, what do you do? Forget about them? I hope not! You work hard to get new leads and meet potential prospects so why give up on them? Many people simply feel uncomfortable doing business with someone they don't know too well.
You should have a systematic way of keeping up with them -- for years, if that's what it takes. Let them get to know you, your company, and your services. You never know when their situation might change and they might be ready to sign up.
Marketing Secret 4 -- Get Help
Just like your clients need your help, don't be afraid to get help in the area of business and marketing. One of the most idiotic things I hear from professionals is 'I should be able to do this myself.' Have you ever seen a brain surgeon operate on his own brain tumor? After all -- he should be able to do it himself, right?
About 4 years ago I was struggling with closing sales and was really frustrated to see my potential clients hire other experts even though I was a lot more qualified to help them. I got the help of a successful sales coach. His advice not only quickly produced results to pay his fee but it also allowed me to make trips to my bank a lot more often.
There you have it -- those are my top four secret marketing tips. OK, so maybe they are not so secret after all. In that case -- I'm sure you are already happily working with all the clients you can possibly handle ;-)
